Security Overview
If you're using the internet to transmit content, particularly valuable content, security is paramount. It needs to be integrated in all aspects of your workflow. There are a number of important considerations. Firstly, if you have some valuable content that is going to be sent over the internet, it obviously needs to be kept secure so it can’t be accessed by anyone it is not intended for. Secondly, content owners and receivers need to have absolute certainty that the person that they are communicating with is who they believe it to be, and not a third party that has hijacked the feed. The third aspect is ensuring that equipment is secure and protected so that it cannot be compromised.
To ensure content is protected, content owners and broadcasters need to use methods and procedures that have been vetted by experts. RIST uses security methods similar to those used in other industries such as banking and financial institutions.
RIST protects content during transit through encryption, authentication, by supporting one-to-many operation, key rotation, and equipment security features. These methods have withstood the scrutiny of experts, are proven to be effective, and can be adapted to suit content owners’ needs.
This video demonstrates how RIST keeps your content secure when it is transported over the Internet.
