Transporting video content over IP: can it be broadcast quality?

As transporting video content over IP increases in popularity, there are still myths circulating surrounding its capabilities and limitations. Packet loss, patchy transmissions and low-quality broadcasts were all once associated with IP due the lack of transport protocols in place. IP has masses of potential within contribution and distribution for broadcasters; it offers a low cost and flexible channel to deliver content to audiences.

Infrastructures have been developed to standards, such as RIST, to enable broad adoption of IP within the broadcast system. Interoperable networks delivered through RIST compatible products enable users to receive the most reliable transmission of content. Additionally, with low technical debt, systems are flexible and can be tailored to suit your needs.

This video demonstrates how companies are using RIST to deliver broadcast-grade video content over IP.
