RIST To Host Live Interoperability Demo and AGM at VidTrans 2020
Event to Feature Pre-Conference Tutorial and Panel Discussion on the RIST Protocol
Los Angeles, 28th January 2020 – The Reliable Internet Stream Transport (RIST) Forum will be hosting an industry interoperability demonstration at VidTrans 2020. The demo will follow involved and detailed interoperability tests taking place the week before VidTrans. The event will also feature a pre-conference tutorial, RIST - A Breakthrough for Internet Media Transport, as well as a number of panels and presentations during the three-day event.
The RIST Forum has also announced that its Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 24th February at the Marina del Rey Marriott in Los Angeles to coincide with the event. There will be an online dial-in available for any members who are unable to attend in person. The AGM will give members an opportunity to get a review of the past year, as well as discussing plans for 2020 and voting on Co-Chairs and Directors.
The pre-conference tutorial will explore all of the key features and functions of RIST, covering both the Simple profile (which has been available since late 2018) and the upcoming Main profile. Key topics to be covered include multi-stream multiplexing/tunnelling using GRE; DTLS encryption and certificate management; Pre-Shared Key encryption; Null packet deletion. You can register for the tutorial via the Video Services Forum website.
The interoperability demonstration will see close to a dozen technology providers participating in live demos using real-time, contribution-quality video streams exchanged securely, with top-of-the-line encryption, over the public Internet between Marina del Rey Marriott and a number of remote locations around the world.
VidTrans will also feature a panel discussion around RIST on Thursday 27th February at 8am. Moderated by Rick Ackermans of MVA Broadcast Consulting, the participants include Sergio Ammirata at DVEO, Paul Atwell from Media Transport Solutions, Ciro Noronha of Cobalt Digital, and VideoFlow’s Adi Rozenberg.
